SPA to host stimulus education sessions on campus today

UNMC Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) will hold two education sessions regarding ARRA 2009 today.

Crystal Miller of SPA will host the first session, which will run from noon to 2 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium and will be for administrative and support staff.

David Crouse, Ph.D., associate vice chancellor for academic affairs, will present a session for faculty from 3 to 4 p.m. in the DRC Auditorium.

Miller will hold another session for administrative and support staff on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. in the DRC Auditorium.

She also will host a session for College of Dentistry in Lincoln faculty and staff on Friday, April 3 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Room 7 of the college.

UNMC principal investigators, administrators or support staff are strongly encouraged to attend the sessions, which are designed to support management of stimulus applications.

The presenters will:

  • Highlight new application procedures;
  • Outline regulations and expectations for challenge applications;
  • Define campus deadlines;
  • Describe SPAdmin extended support;
  • Provide information about other stimulus funding opportunities; and
  • Feature government concerns related to electronic submissions.

Both of today’s sessions will be videotaped and posted on the UNMC Web site.
