Talk about some pricey boots …

Ken Cowan, M.D., Ph.D., director of the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center, admires cowboy boots signed by Warren Buffett and Bill Gates.

The boots will be auctioned online for this year’s Cattlemen’s Ball, which will be held in Doniphan, Neb., on June 5-6.

The theme of this year’s ball is “Give Cancer the Boot.”

Earlier this year, Buffett autographed a pair of boots for auction, adding “I love beef!” to his signature.

Gates’ signature is in silver ink on a pair of black Tony Lama cowboy boots. The boots were donated by Jeff Vinson of Farmers Insurance Group in memory of his mother, Nancy, who died of cancer.

In addition to the Gates and Buffett boots, other celebrities who have signed boots to be auctioned off include Larry the Cable Guy and Kevin Costner.
