From traditional mariachi music to popular songs from Puerto Rico, Cuba and Mexico, Omaha’s Mariachi Zapata entertained and educated UNMC employees on Thursday. The delightful performance was the latest event in UNMC’s Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series. The series alternates between providing performance events and educational lectures. The lectures feature various topics related to diversity of thought, culture and celebration. The next event is TANGO! With Brent and Katy. It features the Omaha Argentine Tango Society. It will be held June 4 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Truhlsen Campus Events Center in the Sorrell Center. Free lunch is available for the first 40 attendees. The event is sponsored by the UNMC Human Resources Department and the Employee Diversity Network. |
