The students and their awards were:
- Debbie Vidlak — first place, Best Presentation at the Graduate Student Research Seminar;
- Tomas Helikar — second place, Best Presentation at the Graduate Student Research Seminar;
- Monica Mariani — cash award for excellent performance at the Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum; and
- Dev Ranjit — outstanding performance award for his work in the pathology/microbiology Advanced Topics in Microbiology course.
