Katy and Brant will give a presentation about the Tango in the Truhlsen Campus Events Center during a Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series event today.

Grab a partner — because we all know it takes two to tango — and head over to the Sorrell Center’s Truhlsen Campus Events Center at noon to learn about the Latin dance from Katy and Brant.

The program — which is part of the Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series — will teach the cultural significance of the tango.

If you’d like to take a tango lesson, the dancers will offer a quick instruction that starts at 11:30 a.m.

Munroe-Meyer Institute programmer/analyst, Hugh Kam and his friends, the Swingin’ is Believing Guild and Omaha Jitterbugs will perform a swing dance during the event and will offer a quick dance lesson afterward from 1 to 1:30 p.m.

Free bag lunches will be provided to the first 40 attendees.

The Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series is a year-long event designed to provide UNMC employees with educational events and performances related to diversity of thought, culture and celebration. The event is sponsored by UNMC Human Resources and the Employee Diversity Network (EDN).
