UNMC Faculty Senate elects new officers

The UNMC Faculty Senate has elected officers for 2009.

The new and re-elected officers are:

  • President — Karen Honeycutt, assistant professor in the School of Allied Health Professions;
  • Immediate Past President — James Turpen, Ph.D., professor in the department of genetics;
  • Vice President and President-elect — Luis Marky, Ph.D., professor in the department of pharmaceutical sciences; and
  • Secretary-Treasurer — Wayne Stuberg, Ph.D., professor in the Munroe-Meyer Institute.

Nancy Woelfl, Ph.D., director and professor in the UNMC McGoogan Library of Medicine, will continue as parliamentarian.

Newly elected senators are:

College of Medicine

  • Gay Canaris, M.D.;
  • Kurtis Cornish, Ph.D.;
  • Julie Fedderson, M.D.;
  • Grant Hutchins, M.D.;
  • Troy Plumb, M.D.; and
  • Michael Wadman, M.D.

College of Nursing

  • Connie Miller, Ph.D.

College of Public Health

  • Todd Wyatt, Ph.D.

Eppley Institute

  • Xu Luo, Ph.D.

Re-elected senators are:

  • Robert Binhammer, Ph.D.;
  • S. James Booth, Ph.D.;
