The Housing Fair runs from 9 to 11 a.m. on June 19 in Private Dining Rooms A and B on the main level of University Tower.

The Housing Fair should provide answers to many of the questions people have when they are considering buying or renting property, said David Nelson, president and CEO of Crew Innovations, Inc., which oversees the UNMC Real Estate With Honors program.

“UNMC Real Estate With Honors serves all medical center employees who are looking to buy or rent in the Omaha metropolitan area,” Nelson said. “The independent real estate professionals who participate in this service can provide help in selling or renting a property. They can explain the new $8,000 tax credit for homebuyers or answer questions about home financing. For many people, they are just looking to upgrade their living quarters after landing a promotion, internship or research position. Whatever your situation, this service can help.”

The Housing Fair is being offered, Nelson said, to help make the search for real estate information easy, fun and informative. More than a dozen participating companies of UNMC Real Estate With Honors will be on hand to answer real estate-related questions.

“There are literally thousands of real estate listings on and off-campus in our system,” Nelson said. “This is a perfect opportunity for people to come see what is available for rent or purchase in Omaha in a casual, relaxed trade show environment. We will share our insights on the newest midtown developments and other revitalization projects close to campus. I would encourage people to browse the UNMC Real Estate With Honors housing Web site and see the tremendous selection that is out there.”

In addition to real estate professionals, local experts in banking, mortgage financing, relocation, child care near UNMC, corporate housing, personal financial planning and cable/internet/phone service will share their knowledge with participants at the Housing Fair.
