In the coming months, UNMC faculty and staff will note big changes on campus.

The changes will start Aug. 13 when UNMC launches its new brand.

Part of the launch will include the redesign of the UNMC Web site and internal Intranet.

“The Web site is one of the ‘front doors’ to UNMC and is one of our most important communication tools,” said Renee Fry, J.D., director of public relations. “It’s a vital tool in telling the UNMC story, and the timing couldn’t be better to change how it looks and functions to create a better experience for the external user.”

The redesign includes a new layout and look, navigation and content and will occur in phases over the next one to two years.

Phase I will be completed by Aug. 13 and will include the home page and main landing pages for each college and institute.

Public relations and UNMC Information Technology Services are working individually with each college and institute to prepare for the Phase I launch. A new header and footer will be developed for pages on the Web site that are not a part of Phase I.

In addition to UNMC’s external Web site, a major transformation is underway for its internal site, info.unmc.edu. A new design, navigation and content are in development and will change over in phases much like the external site.

“Our internal audience is as important to us as our external audiences, and we wanted faculty and staff to see and experience the UNMC brand on all communications, including the intranet,” Fry said.
