Edward Faber Jr., D.O., assistant professor in the oncology and hematology section, is among the many new faculty members at UNMC.

Name: Edward Faber Jr., D.O.

Title: Assistant professor in the oncology and hematology section

Specialty: Medical oncology and hematology

Duties: Dr. Faber will:

  • Work in the oncology outpatient clinic;
  • Attend on transplant inpatient service;
  • Train internal medicine residents;
  • Serve as a didactic teacher to oncology/hematology fellows; and
  • Develop research programs in hematologic malignancies and transplantation with a focus on multiple myeloma and leukemias.

Degree: Doctor of osteopathic medicine, Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, Pa.

Residency: Internal medicine, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh

Fellowship: Hematology/oncology, Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich.

Clinic Hours:

  • Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to noon, West Omaha Cancer Center; and
  • Fridays, 1 to 5 p.m., Peggy D. Cowdery Patient Care Center
