Seasonal flu shots still available to employees

Shots not for H1N1

It’s important to note that seasonal flu shots will not protect recipients against the novel H1N1 virus. A vaccine for that virus will be released in October and distribution plans for these shots will be published at a later time.

UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center and UNMC Physicians employees can still receive free seasonal flu shots clinics held on campus during the next two weeks.

An important step in protecting yourself and others against seasonal influenza, the vaccines provide defense against the three seasonal flu viruses that research shows will be the most common for the upcoming flu season.

The schedule of the upcoming seasonal flu vaccine clinics is as follows:

Monday, Sept. 28

7 to 9 a.m., Storz Pavilion, Room 6-7

Tuesday, Sept. 29
