UNeMed to present Innovation Awards today

UNeMed — the technology commercialization arm for UNMC – will recognize 141 individuals for their new inventions, patents and licensed technology at the 2009 Research Innovation Awards today at 4 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium.

The campus community is invited to attend the ceremony, which will include comments from:

UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D.;
UNeMed’s Chief Executive Officer Jim Linder, M.D.; and
Michael Dixon, Ph.D., president and chief operating officer of UNeMed.

Awards will be presented to individuals with new inventions, issued patents and licensed technology.

A lifetime achievement award and the $10,000 new invention contest check also will be presented.

The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the DRC atrium.
