Students net cash in rural rotation poster contest

Ben Hanzel, left, and Tony Macdissi each received $250 for poster presentations they created after they served rural rotations as third-year medical students.

Hazel received the Department of Family Medicine award for his poster titled “Streptococcal Pharyngitis Management in a small town.”

Macdissi won the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians award for his poster titled “Diabetes Management in the Elderly: A new wrinkle to an old face.”

Hanzel and Macdissi each have the opportunity to compete in a statewide contest at the The Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians Conference in March.
