COP celebrates Pharmacy Month

Gov. Rick Sheehy; Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle and John Ridgeway, UNMC pharmacy practice instructor, commemorate National Pharmacy Week during a luncheon last Wednesday at UNMC.

The ceremony was in the Durham Research Center and featured remarks by Dr. Fletcher, Suttle as well as Sheehy’s reading of a proclamation regarding National Pharmacy Week, which was Oct. 12-16.

Hundreds of students, faculty, alumni and others turned out for the ceremony, which was the highlight of a full slate of student activities held in recognition of pharmacy week.

The week’s activities were meant to raise awareness about the importance of the pharmacy profession and the many ways pharmacists contribute to health care.
