Kalpana Padala, M.D.

Kalpana Padala, M.D., assistant professor of family medicine, is among the many new faculty members at UNMC.

Name: Kalpana Padala, M.D.

Title: Assistant professor in the department of family medicine

Specialty: Geriatrician and researcher who specializes in the care of patients age 65 and older.

Description of duties: Dr. Padala is a research geriatrician in the Department of Family Medicine. Along with serving on the UNMC Family Medicine inpatient team and providing clinical care in the Durham Outpatient Center, she also provides medical care to the residents of Mable Rose Estates Assisted Living in Bellevue.

Certifications: Board certified in family medicine and geriatrics

Residency: Family Medicine-Academic Track at UNMC

Fellowship: Geriatric medicine at UNMC

Research interests: Alzheimer’s disease, Gait dysfunction in elderly, statins.

Clinic hours: Durham Outpatient Center Family Medicine Clinic, Wednesday afternoons.
