Dr. Herbek named College of American Pathologists secretary-treasurer

Gene Herbek, M.D., clinical assistant professor in the department of pathology and microbiology, recently was reelected secretary-treasurer of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) at a ceremony in Washington.

In addition to three previous years of service as secretary-treasurer, Dr. Herbek served on the College’s Board of Governors from 1998 to 2004.

The College of American Pathologists is the world’s largest association composed exclusively of pathologists and is widely recognized as the leader in laboratory quality assurance. The CAP is an advocate for high quality and cost-effective patient care.
