Web style guide, Web writing training now available

Do you work on your department’s Web site, write electronic newsletters, or run its Facebook or Twitter accounts? If so, you are a Web developer! Contact Alex Flagg at aflagg@unmc.edu to join the Web developers e-mail list. Members of this list receive regular updates on Web site developments and opportunities for training in Web tools and best practices.

The first draft of the UNMC Web style guide has been added to the UNMC Branding Resources Web site.

The document is a companion piece to the UNMC brand book, created specifically for the needs of Web communicators.

Included in the document is:

An overview of the Web communication strategy;
Tips for writing strong Web content; and
Guidelines for formatting and image use.

The Web style guide will be updated as new tools and documentation become available.

Campus communicators and Web developers are invited to attend one of two training sessions in how to write for the Web. Training sessions will be Thursday, Nov. 19 and Wednesday, Nov. 25 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Sorrell Center, Room 2014.
