(EDITOR’S NOTE: The following note is from UNMC Human Resources.)

UNMC Human Resources will launch its spring Learn@Lunch Series — titled “Managing Change: Moving Forward with Enthusiasm and Confidence” — on Wednesday, Feb. 10 as Donna Allen Cover, Ph.D., CEO of Positive Purpose, Inc., presents “The Power of Resiliency in Times of Change.”

Future sessions

Future sessions in the Learn@Lunch series are:

  • Coach Kevin Kush, Boystown Head Football Coach and an ABC News “Person of the Week” in 2005, will present “Organizational and Individual Change” on Wednesday, March 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium.
  • Patrick Friman, Ph.D., director of clinical services at Boystown and clinical professor of pediatrics at UNMC, will present “Adapting (well) to Changes in the Workplace” on Tuesday, April 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium.

The session will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the College of Nursing Cooper Auditorium.

There are different types of changes people experience in their lives, including the forces that drive change on the job.

This session will discuss the myths and realities of change, typical emotional responses, how people react and the transition process.

Discover the key to successful change — resiliency. It is not just about surviving change, it is about becoming stronger because of the challenges associated with it.

Lunch will be provided to the first 150 participants to attend each session. Preregistration is required and can be completed online.

Most Spring 2010 Learn@Lunch sessions will be available on archived webcast seven to 10 days following each session.

The webcast will be listed on the Human Resources Web site under Training and Development, Lunch and Learn.
