Those with relatives, friends and colleagues who work for Union Pacific may want to pass along the following — UP will match any donation its employees make to the University of Nebraska Foundation’s UNMC Haitian Relief and Outreach Fund.

The fund will purchase medical equipment, supplies, medication and offset the costs of travel expenses for teams of UNMC volunteers who deploy to Haiti to provide health care assistance in the aftermath of the Jan. 12 earthquake.

The first team of UNMC volunteers is currently being assembled and likely will deploy late this week.

Other teams of UNMC volunteers will deploy as Haiti continues to recover from the earthquake.
