UNMC Board of Counselors welcomes new members

The UNMC Board of Counselors elected new officers for 2010 during its annual board meeting on April 26.

Don Goldstein
Don Goldstein of Omaha was named chairman and Ralph Bradley of Grand Island was named vice chairman. The outgoing chairman is Rick Kolkman of North Platte.

The group also welcomed 12 new members at the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education on the UNMC campus in Omaha.

The UNMC Board of Counselors is a group of more than 60 community and business leaders from across the state that advise UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., on health care issues of importance.

New board members by hometown are:

  • Beatrice — Dennis M. Byars;
  • Columbus — K.C. Belitz;
  • Chadron — Patrick M. “Marty” Connealy;
  • Lincoln — Ronald J. Wachter;
  • Omaha — Anne Branigan, Tom Fischer, Nelson Gordman, Freddie Gray, Diane ‘Diny’ Nolan Landen, Michael Pallesen and Chris Rodgers; and
  • York — Karen Harris.
