Chamber music quartet to perform at next Music as Medicine

Four members from the Omaha Chamber Music Society will present the Music as Medicine concert on Thursday at noon in the Durham Outpatient Center Atrium.












Selections



The quartet will perform the following pieces:

  • Terzetto in C major, Op. 74 by Antonin Dvorak; and
  • Sonata No. 1 in F minor for viola and piano, Op. 120.





The performers will be:
  • Ruth Meints on violin. Meints is the executive director for the Omaha Conservatory of Music and violin instructor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha;

  • Mary Amador on violin. Amador serves on the faculty of Omaha Conservatory of Music and she performs with the Omaha Symphony and the Nova String Quartet;

  • Jesse Griggs on viola. Griggs teaches at the conservatory, coaches sectional rehearsals with the Omaha Area Youth Orchestra and appears regularly in the viola section of the Omaha Symphony Orchestra; and

  • Yulia Kalashnikova on piano. Kalashnikova is on the conservatory’s piano faculty and she also is the accompanist for the Omaha Children’s Chorus.
