Mortgages, home buying the focus of June 24 Learn@Lunch seminar












Back in the fall



Metro Credit Union representatives will be back on campus in the fall to present another Learn@Lunch seminar titled, “Improve Your Financial IQ,” which will focus on personal financial awareness. Attendees will learn about

  • Budgeting;
  • Credit scores; and
  • The benefits of saving and protecting identity.

A date and time for this sessions will be announced in UNMC Today.




Mortgages and other aspects of home buying will be the focus of an upcoming Learn@Lunch session at UNMC.

At the June 24 session, which will starts at noon in Wittson Hall, Room 3034, Metro Federal Credit Union representatives will discuss:

  • All aspects of mortgage financing; and
  • How credit affects one’s ability to obtain a home loan.

They also will walk attendees through the home buying process and show the advantages of refinancing a loan for current home owners.

Another part of the seminar — which is sponsored by UNMC Human Resources — will cover general information about the home buying industry including:

  • The recent changes that have occurred in the market;
  • Different loan program types; and
  • Definitions of popular mortgage terminology.

Attendees will have a chance to answer questions at the seminar.

Cookies will be provided and attendees are encouraged to bring lunch.
