Walgreens to no longer honor university prescription coverage

Effective July 9, Walgreens drug stores will no longer honor Caremark prescription drug coverage.

A generic reminder

Employees who completed the Health Risk Assessment can obtain generic drugs through Caremark’s mail-in program at no cost to the employees. If you are unsure if you completed the HRA, call the UNMC Benefits Office at 559-4340 or 559-5911.

Caremark provides prescription drug coverage for the University of Nebraska benefits plan.

Those with university benefits can fill prescriptions at many other pharmacies, including the pharmacy on the second floor of the Durham Outpatient Center.

More about this will soon be provided by the University of Nebraska Central Administration.

That's inconvenient. I've been going to Walgreens for years and years. Now I have to transfer all my prescriptions somewhere else?
