A note for all purchasing cardholders

The bank for the University of Nebraska’s purchasing cards (P-Card) will change on Aug. 30 from US Bank to UMB Bank.

As part of this transition, an electronic application and certification process will be instituted.

Starting July 1, existing and new applicants will need to complete an application on UNMC ESS to receive the UMB Bank P-Card.

If approved, applicants will be required to complete a short certification test and acknowledgment on Blackboard.Below is a tentative P-Card transition schedule:

  • July 1 — P-Card applications available on UNMC ESS for new and existing applicants;
  • July 30 — Target completion of application/test process to allow mass distribution of new P-Cards;
  • Aug. 15 — UMB Bank P-Cards distributed to approved UNMC ESS applicants;
  • Aug. 31 — US Bank P-Cards disabled and no further charges will be authorized; and
  • Sept. 1 — UMB Bank P-Cards activated for use.
