Lookin’ at U – Kimberly Norman

picture disc.Quick, think of five things others should know about you.

That’s the theme behind a series in UNMC Today called “Lookin’ at U.”

Each Thursday, we randomly select a medical center employee to feature.

This week, we feature Kimberly Norman, education program coordinator in the department of pharmacy practice.

Kimberly Norman, shown here on vacation in Mexico with her husband, Albert, and sons Tre and Andre.
Here, in her own words, are five fun facts about Kimberly:
  • I was born on the Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan and was raised for five years by a nanny who sent us fortune cookies up until the year she passed away and a seamstress who could make clothes just by looking at a picture.

  • I will be married 11 years as of July 30 to Albert Norman Jr.

  • I have two fabulous sons – Tre, 8, and Andre, 7. They are 11 months and 4 days apart. From June 17 through July 21 every year, they are the same age, which really annoys my oldest son.

  • I have been actively involved with the non-profit organization, Nothing But Net Foundation, which is the lead agency for two highly rated afterschool programs; Belvedere Academy and King Elementary in Omaha and provides a Youth Leadership Camp at Turning Point campus to engage youth in the summer. I LOVE KIDS!

  • I have a passion for party planning and that is ANY kind of party. I am the PTA mother that puts hours of time in planning a (one hour) elementary school fall or Valentine’s Day party inclusive of goody bags, decorations, prizes and unique games.
