Sustainability campaign meeting set for Wednesday

The UNMC Sustainability Committee will host a noon meeting in the Durham Research Center Auditorium on Wednesday.

At the meeting, attendees will learn how they can be actively engaged in the medical center’s sustainability initiative.

“I encourage our employees to attend to see how they can help with this very important effort, which will have positive effects on many levels,” said Don Leuenberger, vice chancellor for business and finance.

Long a leader in environmental stewardship — the medical center has decided to step up its efforts in this area. A commitment to cut utility costs by 25 percent during the next five years is one indication of UNMC’s increased efforts on the sustainability front.

Employees are encouraged to bring lunch. Cookies and refreshments will be provided.
