Lookin’ at U – Steve Nigretti

Quick, think of five things others should know about you.

That’s the theme behind a series in UNMC Today called “Lookin’ at U.” Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee to feature.

This week, we feature Steve Nigretti, manager of the UNMC ice rink.

Here, in his own words, are some fun facts about Steve:

Steve Nigretti
  • I am from New Haven, Conn., and this is my first time in Omaha or the Midwest.
  • I was the foreman for a construction company before I became manager of the ice skating rink at UNMC. The company I work for manages ice skating rinks all over the world and will open its first rink in India at the end of February.
  • I enjoy traveling and have been to New York City, Boston, Texas and Florida. I would love to visit Tokyo someday.
  • Before coming to Omaha, I lived in Texas for seven months. I really miss the east coast, going to Yankees games and New York style pizza!
  • In my spare time, I like to exercise, catch up on the latest political headlines, read (my favorite book is “To Kill a Mockingbird”) and watch shows such as “Dateline NBC” or “48 Hours.”

Read UNMC Today next Thursday to see who is featured in the next Lookin’ at U article. Who knows — it could be U.
