The College of Public Health held its first student career panel featuring high ranking public health professionals from across Nebraska. The event was part of the college’s spring open house for prospective students. The workshop featured several community leaders in public health including:
  • Adi Pour, Ph.D., director of the Douglas County Health Department;
  • Sade Kosoko-Lasaki, M.D., associate vice president for health sciences and multicultural and community affairs at Creighton University Medical Center;
  • Steve Jackson, program manager of the Nebraska Ryan White program in the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services;
  • Brenda Thompson, project coordinator of CityMatCH; and
  • Anne O’Keefe, M.D., senior epidemiologist at the Douglas County Health Department.

The 2011 Cattlemen’s Ball — which will be held on June 3-4 in West Point — is officially sold out. The event’s 4,000 tickets sold out on March 2- which marked the quickest sellout in the event’s history.
