Nursing dean receives prestigious award

picture disc.Ada Lindsey, Ph.D., dean of the College of Nursing, has been recognized for her sustained and significant contributions to the National Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and to advance the science and practice of oncology nursing.

Dr. Lindsey recently received a prestigious commemorative resolution from the ONS Board of Directors during the seventh Biannual National Cancer Nursing Research Conference in San Diego.

Dr. Lindsey has been a member of ONS since 1979 and has contributed to cancer nursing and to the society in various ways. She has mentored nurses by serving as a member or chair of their doctoral dissertation committees.

Dr. Lindsey also has served as a principal investigator and co-investigator on more than 15 cancer-related studies; published more than 25 data-based and review articles related to cancer; presented more than 25 papers nationally and internationally related to cancer; and authored more than 10 chapters that have advanced the science and practice of oncology nursing.
