Janet Cuddigan, Ph.D., has been named acting dean of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing effective July 1.

Dr. Cuddigan — associate professor of nursing and chairwoman of the college’s Adult Health & Illness Department — will step in for Virginia Tilden, D.N.Sc., who retires June 30 after nearly eight years as nursing dean.

“Janet Cuddigan was recommended by Dr. Virginia Tilden for the acting deanship,” said UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D. “She has been on the faculty for more than 15 years and has considerable experience and expertise that will be essential during her tenure as acting dean.
