Subcontracts, new budget form training sessions

Sponsored Programs Administration and the Office of Budget and Analysis are co-hosting training sessions about the necessary ingredients for a successful subcontract and revealing the new budget form. To help you determine if you have the right ingredients and understand the new form, the training session is scheduled for Thursday, March 27.

If the answer to any of the following questions is yes, then plan to attend this training session.

  • Does your job require you to determine the necessary ingredients for a subcontract?
  • Do you want to fill out an easier budget form?
  • Do you frequently wonder if the subcontract is in compliance with UNMC and federal regulations?
  • Would you like a budget form that calculates F&A for you?
  • Does your research involve a subcontract arrangement with another university?

On Jan. 1, Sponsored Programs Administration implemented a new contract negotiation procedure. The information training session are designed to:

  • Reveal the ingredients of a proper subcontract in the proposal stage
  • Unveil the new SPA budget form
  • Reduce misunderstandings of subcontract negotiation
  • Develop an understanding of subcontract components
  • Divulge the new subcontract negotiation process
  • Discover new ingredients for compliant subcontracts

To accommodate as many people as possible, participants can choose to attend a morning (9 to 11 a.m.) or afternoon (1 to 3 p.m.) session in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater. To help prepare materials for the training session, complete the attached online form by Friday, March 14 to register. If you have questions, contract Elizabeth Fowlkes (559-5222 or efowlkes@unmc.edu).

Please note: Individuals are strongly encouraged to attend as many training opportunities as possible. These sessions will develop an individual’s skills in compliance and grants management.
