Science Cafes focused on honeybees/ flu — Different site for Omaha cafe

Pandemic influenza will be discussed at Tuesday’s Science Cafe in Omaha.

Two days later (Oct. 6), the health of honeybees will be discussed at Lincoln’s Science Cafe.

In Omaha, Marvin Bittner, M.D., associate professor of internal medicine, medical microbiology, and immunology at Creighton University, will discuss the hype surrounding the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic.

His seminar starts at 6:30 p.m. at The Sydney, 5918 Maple St.

In Lincoln, Marion Ellis, Ph.D., professor of entomology and apiculture specialist at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will discuss honeybee health and what factors stress bee colonies.

The Lincoln Science Cafe starts at 6:30 p.m. at red9, at 9th and M Streets.
