Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska Ranch PartyMay 31

The Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska is accepting reservations for the 2003 Ranch Party on Saturday, May 31, at the Double D Farm near Ashland, Neb.

The event, hosted by David and Dickie Fulkerson of Double D Farm, will include a barbeque dinner catered by Whiskey Creek, followed by an auction and featured entertainer Red Steagall. Gates will open at 3 p.m. with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. The auction and entertainment will follow.

picture disc.Steagall is a cowboy poet and is best known for his wonderful Texas Swing dance music. A native Texan, he has performed around the world for more than 30 years at fairs, rodeos and special events.

The Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska has been held the past five years near Ainsworth, Lexington, Ogallala, Valentine and Valparaiso. The Advisory Board decided to hold a scaled down event this year due to the drought and economic conditions across the state.

Last year’s ball raised $207,000 for cancer research at the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center and $26,493 for health care needs in the Valparaiso area.
