With a bicycle and $20, employees can take part in this charity bike ride event, sponsored by the UNMC Department of Ophthalmology’s international division.

Participants can choose from a 5, 10, 20 or 40 mile loop. The five-mile loop also is open to walkers.

Ophthalmology relief in Haiti

All proceeds from the event will go to support a cataract surgery camp at Justinien hospital in Cape Haitien in Haiti.

In May, a team led by Michael Feilmeier, M.D., medical director of the international division, will travel to the hospital.

Open to all

Anyone can enter the Bike for Sight Charity Ride raffle and have a chance to win a 2010 Globe Live Red Bicycle, a $580 value, or the 2011 Kona 18″ Africa Bike, a $479 value, donated courtesy of The Bike Way.

Each raffle ticket costs $10. Register and purchase raffle tickets online or the day of the ride.
