Recognizing leadership during National CRNA Week
Each year, National CRNA Week recognizes certified registered nurse anesthetists and the invaluable service they provide to patients. The UNMC Department of Anesthesiology is celebrating the more than 60 certified registered nurse anesthetists during National CRNA Week and recognizing the dedication of Melissa Smith, Ann Donnelly-Haasch, and Jolynn Carlson, the associate directors of nurse anesthesia at Fritch Surgery Center, Village Pointe Health Center and Bellevue Medical Center.

Congratulations SRNA graduates
Six student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs) who trained alongside UNMC Department of Anesthesiology CRNAs recently completed their program’s clinical requirements and were awarded Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) degrees from Clarkson College. UNMC Department of Anesthesiology’s Global Health efforts in Zambia
The UNMC Department of Anesthesiology sent two teams of faculty, residents and fellows to the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, Zambia, as part of the Global Academic Anesthesia Consortium. The group provided clinical training to the residents of UTH, while learning more about the challenges and opportunities in Zambia’s health care system.
