Nurse, student recognized by the March of Dimes

UNMC outreach program celebrates a decade of service
UNMC, through its partnership with the North Omaha Community Care Council, has taught healthy behaviors to dozens of elementary and middle school children through the ALL STARS program. The ten-year program is part of the after-school activities in several OPS schools.

Nursing grad student enacts MRSA prevention at McCook school
UNMC College of Nursing graduate student Dawn Garcia was going about her full-time job as school nurse for McCook Public Schools when news broke in late October that methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus — also called MRSA — had taken the lives of students in Kentucky and New York.
