Certificate in Health Professions Teaching & Technology

This certificate provides health professions educators with a foundation in health science education, teaching skills, and the science of teaching.

Why Study Health Professions Teaching & Technology?

"The effective use of technology to teach has become a necessity to meet the needs of the digitally native millennial and postmillennial students who constitute the vast majority of students at universities worldwide. In the past decade, the explosion of simulators, mobile devices, apps, social media and other modalities have increased the potential to greatly enhance interactions between the instructor and students and improve learning, particularly so in health science fields. This innovative and inter-professionally taught program will focus not only on the pedagogy of learning, but will also enable the teacher/instructor to gain skills in effective use of technology to teach health professions students. It should be a valuable resource to faculty, instructors and advanced students in the US and around the world."

  • H. Dele Davies, MD, MS, MHCM, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

Student Testimonial

"I found it so interesting that I felt more connected to both my classmates and faculty in the Master of Health Professions Teaching and Technology distance education program when compared to several of my undergraduate face-to-face courses. Even though I had never met them in person (other than those from the College of Dentistry), I felt as if I had known them professionally and personally." - Jaimee Shropshire, Health Professions Teaching & Technology student
