Learning Outcomes

Graduate Studies Learning Outcomes work in conjunction with UNMC’s overall Learning Outcomes. Each of the five Graduate Studies Learning Outcomes fulfill one or more of the Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs). The ILOs provide another way to measure where our students are successful while simultaneously measuring how our academic programs are successful in developing iTEACH values in UNMC students.

Knowledge of Discipline

Graduates demonstrate broad knowledge of the discipline, and deep knowledge of at least one subject matter.

Critical Thinking

Graduates are able to critically analyze and synthesize new and complex information from diverse sources.

Research Skills

Graduates with research-based degrees (e.g., PhD) are able to independently identify significant unanswered questions in their discipline, and to both propose and execute original research that addresses those questions using appropriate methodologies.
