Weekly eTip – OneNote tips

Question: I have to create a PowerPoint presentation for a national meeting. I have a sample that I would like to use. How do I change the colors to match the template?

Answer: If you want to match the colors of a PowerPoint template, you need to go to the fill color of the original object (see the RGB color codes). Select the text box or object and select the Fill color icon from the ribbon (or right click and select Format shape). Select Fill > More Fill colors and click the Custom tab to see what the RGB codes are. If you are not able to select the color formatting on individual objects, you may need to go to View > Slide master and right click on the sections on the master slide to see the color codes.

However, departments should use the UNMC Branding templates or at least the UNMC brand elements (UNMC logos, wordmark, colors, fonts, etc.) for a consistent look and feel for presentations, publications and posters. Below are links to UNMC branding guidelines and templates.

The easiest way to make sure you have the correct branding elements/colors is to download the templates and simply replace the text from the UNMC template and save with a different name. You can still express creativity using the templates.
