Name: Birgit Khandalavala, M.D.

Title: Associate professor of family medicine

Duties: Treat obese patients and serve as medical director of the medical arm of the new Bariatric Center for UNMC Physicians and The Nebraska Medical Center.

Research interests: Obesity management, metabolic disorders, preventive health

Education: Family medicine residency at Creighton University School of Medicine

Previous positions: Associate professor of family medicine, Creighton University School of Medicine

Memberships: American Academy of Family Physicians, Obesity Society
