Weekly eTip – Outlook Tools and Rules on April Fools’

Question: I have two monitors and keep my mail open on the left and my tasks, calendar and contacts open on the right. Each has a designated corner to which I drag them so that a piece of each window is always open and easy to click. Is there a way I can set the default view to always open the way I want? I am forever moving the four windows around to where I want them.

Answer: This was a great question and one that I didn’t immediately have an answer for, but we discovered that if you close Outlook 2010 using File > Exit, it will re-open the views as it was when you exited. By the way, for those who are not aware how to have mail, calendar, contacts, tasks open in individual windows, simply right click on the desired object in the navigation pane and select “Open in New Window.”
