Virtual bike ride, real book sale

You’d like to get moving. But an exercise bike sounds so boring.

Not so!

This week, as part of the UNMC Winter Activity Decathlon, check out the Expresso virtual-reality bikes at the Center for Healthy Living.

Monitors on the bikes’ dashboards show a video game-like course, accompanied by resistance effects that correspond with going up- or downhill. Participants can ride the 1-mile Expresso Speedway course to take part in the decathlon’s virtual bike race.

Virtual-reality bikes can keep you motivated with changing courses and terrains, group rides or real-time races, video-game incentives (pick up coins or catch dragons) or even racing the “ghost” of your previous-best ride.
Stop by the CFHL any time this week to check out the bikes.

The decathlon is a 10-week challenge for UNMC employees, and is designed to increase activity and show us the activity options that are available on campus. The event is in its last two weeks.
