Joslyn exhibit focus of noon presentation

UNMC employees are invited to join Susie Severson, director of adult programs at Joslyn Art Museum, as she presents a slide-illustrated overview of the elegant exhibition “Renoir to Chagall: Paris and the Allure of Color.”

Severson will speak from noon to 12:50 p.m. on Aug. 13, in the Sorrell Center, Room 2014. The exhibition is on view until Sept. 1 at the museum at 2200 Dodge St.

This vibrant exhibition, on loan from the Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis, traces the most significant developments in French painting that shaped the direction of modern art for more than a century.

“Renoir to Chagall” presents the scenes from ballet to boulevard that made Paris a magnet for 19th and 20th century masters, among them Cezanne, Chagall, Degas, Gauguin, Matisse, Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, and Toulouse-Lautrec.

Please RSVP to Kacie Gerard if you are able to attend. A minimum of 10 people must sign up or the program will be canceled.

The event is offered through the Passport Partners program, which provides free museum admission for medical center employees, students and their immediate family with a valid identification badge, while also offering lectures, workshops and other events on the medical center campus.

Employees are encouraged to bring their lunch.
