Meyer Foundation’s Denim for Disabilities campaign kicks off Jan. 27

Break out the denim! Jean days may be in your future if you choose to participate in the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities’ annual “Denim for Disabilities” campaign at UNMC.

Employees can purchase a “Denim for Disabilities” sticker for a minimum of $1 and wear jeans to work for that day, anytime between Jan. 27 and Feb. 21.

Proceeds support recreational therapy programs for adults with disabilities at the Munroe-Meyer Institute. Hundreds of families benefit from these services each year.

Contact Kim Bainbridge at 402-559-5771 to set up “Denim Day(s)” in your department and obtain stickers.

Those who already have a designated casual dress day can contribute by donating $1 and wearing the sticker. Groups of all sizes are welcome to participate.

The “Denim for Disabilities” campaign precedes the “Walk and Roll for Disabilities” to be held on March 2 at Oakview Mall this year.

You can also contribute to the cause by eating at Don and Millie’s (at the intersection of Farnam and Saddlecreek) on Wednesdays in February from 5-9 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from those receipts will be donated to the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities.
