Second Destination Midtown design workshop Nov. 17-20

The public is invited to attend the second Destination Midtown design workshop Nov. 17-20on the second floor of Mutual of Omaha’s Innowave Building, 3201 Farnam St.

The workshop will focus on refining the general concepts and design ideas that were developed during the first workshop in late August.

Designers from HDR will examine in detail the opportunities available for mixed-use, pedestrian oriented development between Dodge and Leavenworth Streets.

The workshop also will examine opportunities for public space development and transportation improvements.

Doug Bisson, project manager for Destination Midtown, said the best ideas presented at the late August workshop are to be refined during the November workshops. “We came up with several ideas on how to make this area great,” he said. “It all centers on creating great neighborhoods, addressing traffic issues and creating great public spaces.”

The design workshop public input schedule is as follows:


  • Monday, Nov. 17, noon to 1:30 p.m. project kickoff
  • Tuesday, Nov. 18, noon to 1:30 p.m., progress review. Bring your own lunch; 6 p.m. progress review.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 19, 6 p.m., progress review.
  • Thursday, Nov. 20, 6 p.m., final presentation.

Parking is available in the lot east of the building. Overflow parking is available in Mutual’s visitor lot on 33rd Street between Farnam and Dodge Streets. Enter the Innowave Building on the North side, which faces Farnam Street.
