UNMC’s College of Pharmacy is sponsoring a Biopharmaceutical Research and Development Symposium in June that will bring together leading academic researchers with biopharmaceutical industry scientists for two days of seminars, roundtable discussions and networking opportunities.
Planned topics of discussion include the drug development and approval process, redefining the interface between industry and academia, enabling oral drug delivery technologies and new modalities in biopharma.
Guest speakers include representatives from Novartis, Bristol-Meyers-Squibb, Merck, Biogen, Abbott Labs, Gilead Sciences, Bend Research, Celerion Corporation and Genzyme Corporation.
The symposium is free to all UNMC faculty and students, and registration for non-UNMC attendees is $150, which includes a lunch and snack on both days.
The symposium is planned for June 5 and 6 at the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education on 42nd and Emilie streets.
