TravelSmart: Carpooling can pay off

Despite the crazy driving by Euem Osmera and Gregg Dahlheim in our TravelSmart remote vehicle Carpool Race, carpooling is an enjoyable and affordable way to travel to campus.

Do you currently carpool?
If yes and you haven’t signed up for the TravelSmart program, we encourage you to do so right away. You can obtain a free carpool pass and continue to park in your same parking spot! Learn more and/or sign up on the TravelSmart website.

Have you considered carpooling, but don’t have anyone to carpool with?
If this is the case, check out the free Zimride carpool matching program. There’s no cost to sign up, you don’t have to register for TravelSmart to check it out, rides posted can only be seen by other participants from this campus, and there’s no commitment, even if the program identifies matches for you.

Posting a ride is fast, easy, and the average commute to this campus has 4 matches! Find a match that works for you and it can help you save money. And you don’t have to carpool every day to reap the rewards. You and your carpool partner(s) can choose to turn in your parking permits and obtain a free carpool pass to save additional cash or you can keep your parking permits. If you choose the free carpool pass option, you can still park in your current parking lot or you can select a different lot.

Carpooling is a great way to: commute to work, get to know somebody better, save wear and tear on your vehicle and gas, and reduce pollution.

Your commute won’t be as exciting or reckless as our remote control car pool race, but you can still have a good time and reap all the benefits.
