Shannon Boerner, MD, assistant professor, Division of General Internal Medicine, has been elected to the Society of General Internal Medicine’s (SGIM) Midwest Leadership Board as an at-large council member. 

“This will give her an opportunity to take her mentorship expertise to a national organization of academic internal medicine physicians,” chief, Division of General Internal Medicine, Tom Tape, MD, said.

Dr. Boerner’s term begins at the Midwest regional meeting on September 22, 2016, in Cleveland, Ohio. Two at-large council members are elected for a two-year term.  Dr. Boerner’s duties will include: acting as an additional liaison for SGIM National committees of interest, leading efforts to develop mentoring programs and overseeing mentoring programs at the regional meeting.
