How I fell in love with science and cancer research:
When I was in high school, my uncle routinely treated jaundiced patients with a homemade herbal medicine that cured the disease. However, my uncle did not know what type of jaundice or how the herbal medicine worked on the patients. This inspired me to fall in love with science and to find out how herbal medicines work. My training in science over the past 10 years has shifted my interest to identifying early detection cancer biomarkers and cures for cancer, because this disease is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide.
