Mary Woolley, president and CEO of Research!America

Mary Woolley, president and CEO of Research!America, will present “Your Role in Changing Hearts and Minds for Science” as the closing keynote for Research and Innovation Month on Oct. 31, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend.

Her presentation will emphasize how research advocacy can be used to promote research at the University of Nebraska, as well as the role scientists can play in increasing attention to research.

Woolley has served as president and CEO of Research!America, the nation’s largest advocacy organization committed to making medical and health research a higher national priority, since 1990.

Under her leadership, Research!America has earned the attention and respect of elected and appointed officials, researchers in the public, private and academic sectors, media, and community leaders with its record of innovation in advocacy for research.

The presentation, sponsored by the Office of the UNMC Vice Chancellor for Research, will be live streamed and recorded.
