Re-Imagining U elective set for Tuesday

December will bring to an end the fall semester of Re-Imagining U, but not without first offering a few more great sessions.

On Tuesday, UNMC will host its last elective course, “Busting Blindspots.”

Have you ever thought to yourself “Why do good people fail to do the right thing?” In this workshop, delivered by the Business Ethics Alliance, attendees will:

  • Discover why good people sometimes make bad choices;
  • Examine and analyze psychological blind spots through examples;
  • Assess and identify blind spots in real life ethics scenarios; and
  • Develop ways to overcome blind spots.

Register for this and any other Re-Imagining U courses through Employee Services on the Education Tab under My Registrations.

Other courses being offered in December include:

Dec. 15, 9-10:30 a.m.: Corrective Action Plans 101: How to address gaps in a specific skill or responsibility with a corrective action plan including how to document coaching and guidance for success.

Room locations will be emailed to participants following registration.

All attendees should discuss their overall development goals with their leaders and get approval before signing up for any session to ensure business needs are met by the department.

Re-Imagining U will be launching the new Spring Semester Catalog for spring 2018 in mid-December, so colleagues will have plenty of time to review calendars and development needs and lock in courses as early as possible.

Spring 2018 will bring:

  • expanded core courses at UNO and UNMC;
  • more remote livestreaming room opportunities (Re-Imagining U needs volunteer leaders for each participating room — contact Diane Kortus at 9-8955);
  • a new lineup of elective courses; and
  • celebration activities for Black History Month, Women’s History Month and several speakers addressing how to navigate within multigenerational workforces.
